Let us answer some questions
Frequently asked questions
Is this a one-off project or an ongoing arrangement?
Both. Some businesses want a single audit or a launch handled; others keep Chef Wembinga on in an ongoing capacity. Which one suits you is agreed at the start.
What happens first?
A conversation about the business, then a visit to the venue. Nothing is scoped or quoted before the kitchen has actually been seen.
Do you work with new openings as well as existing kitchens?
Yes. Start-ups get concept development, menu planning, kitchen setup and launch support; existing kitchens get audits, costing work, training and systems.
How long does a typical engagement take?
It depends on scope: an audit might take a few days, a full launch can run over several weeks. The timeline is set once the work is scoped.
Is my business information kept confidential?
Yes. Details about your business and operations stay confidential, and an NDA can be signed if required.
Can some of the work be done remotely?
Some elements, like menu planning or costing review, can be done remotely, but the initial visit and any hands-on training happen on-site.
Do you travel outside Bulawayo?
Yes. Chef Wembinga works across Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana and Zambia. Travel and logistics are worked into the engagement.
How is consultancy priced?
There’s no fixed rate card. Scope, venue, travel and whether the work is one-off or ongoing all shape it, so it’s confirmed after the first conversation.
What's the payment structure?
Usually a deposit with the balance tied to milestones or completion. Exact terms are agreed as part of the engagement.
